Is Gluten an Issue For You?

Updated: Aug 4, 2022

Gluten, the group of proteins found in wheat, some oats, rye, barley, spelt, and kamut is a major cause of a lot of people’s digestive problems. Most of our diets are too high in gluten. The products we eat from these grains are from hybridized grains that contains up to 700% more gluten that the original grains.

Yes, you read that correctly--700 PERCENT MORE.

Symptoms of gluten overload include:

  • Brain fog (yes, it is actually called this!)

  • Chronic bronchitis

  • Ear, nose, throat, and sinus infections

  • Headaches

  • Lower backache

  • Skin rashes (often mistaken as psoriasis)

If you suspect that gluten is causing you problems, take it out of your diet for four weeks. It must be a complete abstinence. Also, you can get a simple blood test done to see if you are allergic to gluten.

Reading food labels is essential, and even then the ingredients can be obscure. For example, cinnamon often contains gluten, as it is cheap filler. It hides in some unsuspecting places.

I have seen some amazing results with clients who removed gluten from their diet. Many have experienced decreased hip pain, lower back pain, and chronic neck, and shoulder tension release. With children, irritability lessens and chronic coughs stop.

If you think gluten may be affecting your health, give me a call or schedule a consultation. I can help you identify some problem areas and get you back on track to optimal health.
